Bauckham’s New Introduction to Jesus

I was pleased to discover yesterday that Richard Bauckham recently published Jesus: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford) just a couple of months ago. At 150 pages (very short!) and about $10, it seems worth checking into. Anyone out there already look at it? Thoughts?

  1. Yeah, I’ve read it. It’s a very good introduction to Jesus, but also a very good introduction to Bauckham’s approach to things. I recommend it.

  2. Oh, I forgot to add: Bauckham seems to assume a lot of things, but I guess space prevents him from going into too much detail. He does ask the reader to look at Eyewitnesses, God of Israel, etc., if they want more info. Still, I did wonder how far, say, a non-believer would be convinced by his arguments. But as a believer, I had no problems.
