The Walking Dead, Our Humanity, and Immigration (Skinner)

TerminusAs most of my friends (and all of my students) know, I’m a huge fan of the AMC series, The Walking Dead. I have seen every episode (some multiple times) and I happen to think it is one of the most poignant and insightful shows currently on television. This morning, my former student and recent Duke MTS grad, Josh Barfield published this stimulating piece over at The Public Sphere. I encourage you to read Josh’s article and then start watching the show (first four seasons are on Netflix). You can learn a great deal about humanity by watching a show about zombies. 🙂

  1. [spoilers] I was a big fan of the show, until they killed off Hershel. I couldn’t help feeling occasionally that they over-indulged the gore at the expense of substance. (As I write this, I’m watching my favorite zombie movie, 28 Days Later.
